Nan Jenkins is a lifelong Henry County resident and a 1986 graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Journalism. She began her career with the American Cancer Society in Virginia and has remained a dedicated volunteer ever since, currently serving on the National Community Fundraising Leadership Team, the Regional Team, and the local Relay-For-Life Committee. In 2021, she received the St. George Award, the highest honor given to an American Cancer Society volunteer.

Nan retired after 11 years as Director of Development for A Friend’s House, Henry County’s home for abused, neglected, and abandoned children, where she and her husband also served as foster parents—an experience that strengthened her advocacy for children in crisis. A lifelong volunteer, Nan serves as Secretary of the Henry County Kiwanis Club, a member of the Camp Fortson Board of Directors, Treasurer of the Georgia 4-H Counselor Alumni Association, and as a Henry County and Georgia 4-H volunteer.

She has been married to her husband, Jeff, a Delta pilot, for 37 years, and they have one son, John, who is an educator and performer.
